Everyday is a choice, getting up and out of bed is a choice. Trust me I would rather stay in there, all snuggly and warm, I have a Egyptian 800 thread count blanket (its what heaven feels like, the warm embrace of a mothers love). But we all have to make the choice to get up and get on with life, staying still only makes life worse down the road.

We all live life, but not all love life, how can one love something that beats up on a daily basis. I am not talking about helpful criticism, I am talking life punching you in the mouth, kicking you in the balls, stabbing you in the heart pain, the kind of pain that continues throughout the day, week, month, year, all life. Ever present when you take the time to think about it. But we have found that when you are distracted with activity, the pursuit of a goal, then the anticipation overrides the pain.

That’s why we made TheOasis.City to combat the pain. We believe that goals lead to purpose, purpose leads to action, and action leads to growth, change, some comfort and a different type of pain……pleasure.

I wake up in the morning and think ” I am NOT getting up.” Then I have to pee, it hurts, and I can’t pee in bed, so I get up and pee. Then I realize, my stomach hurts, I am hungry, “hm, maybe I can ignore it, or drink some coffee and make the pain go away.” Nope, coffee makes me have to pee again, and I am hungrier.

So, now I am up. If I am up then I might as well have some pleasure. Goals, the anticipation of going somewhere, doing something, eating something, is good.

This is us, all old and experienced. Guinness Hester CTO the I.T. guru wearing his Harvard Hat and Dennis Hester COO, in a tie and dress shirt. 50 years of living has taught us a lot about life, death, chores, goals, pain, pleasure, and peace.

There is an end, eventually, and it will be here sooner than you think.

But back to our story, in our 50 years of living we have loved many lost friends by death or movement along the way. Some sooner that we would have liked. Like Keanu Reeves said when asked what happens after Death, by a famous talk show host. He said “The people that love them, miss them deeply.”

We are told that 50,000 people die each year in the U.S. by active suicide, more by poor choice of food (McDonald’s), drink (alcohol) and activity (cigarettes). That if they had better goals “things to live for” or “support” a community of caring, loving friends, that they would have made better choices to live as long as possible.

So our mission is to be that community of caring, loving, and motivating friends to help guide through on your journey through life.

Things I have to live for; my lovely young wife.

My loving wife, my life mate, we travel and do adventures together.

But you can have this too! Mates are people that you love, that you want to have more happiness in their life, with or without you. Boys, girls, kids, friends, pets, companies, cars, books.
