Get-a-Job-Quick, Step One

Step One: Be open to all opportunities!

Someone telling you about an opening for a customer service rep to answer phones may not be the Director of Marketing Position that you are looking for, but the way life works, when you investigate the company about this opening, you may discover that they are also looking for a person for your dream job.

80% of all jobs filled, are not advertised, so that means only 20% of the people get their jobs by applying to them directly. If you are ONLY looking for jobs by directly applying for posted openings, then you are competing with the most number of applicants, and in this market it may be a long time for you to find a job.

I see 100% remote job openings attracting 1,000+ of applicants, so if you need a job NOW, don’t waste your time applying for these.

You need to focus on jobs onsite and jobs only hiring local candidates, many places offer 100% remote jobs after you have worked a couple of years onsite. Because you have shown that they can trust you to do the work, and not get a second job at the same time.

  • Step One : Be open to all opportunities! Be serious about getting a new Job.
  • Step Two : Realize that this Job Market is different than past job markets. It’s been forever changed by the Pandemic/Work From Home/Decreasing of Salaries because of new competition from Overseas.
  • Step Three : Realize that speed to apply is more important that anything else. You are First to apply or you are last.
  • Step Four : In addition to being faster you have to be smarter than the other applicants, you can’t do the same things that they do, because if you do, you will lose, because someone is cheaper and has more degrees, languages, or energy (willing to work more hours).
  • Step Five : You have to be what you are, a specialist. Companies want solutions to specific problems, after you are there, then you can be a generalist.
  • Step Six : Companies want people onsite and they want people that have a referral/connection or are a friend, so build your network of connections through Linkedin, Facebook, TheOasis.city or all the social networks.
  • Step Seven : Plan to spend money and time on finding and getting a job, you get what you pay for.
  • Step Eight : Don’t have stress about your job search, when you use these proven steps, tools, and actions then getting a job is guaranteed.
  • Step Nine : If you don’t use these steps, tools, actions and techniques, then be you should be stressed because you won’t find a job for a very long time.
